This is a project linked back to 2006 when I was in university—the first time I worked on a design / illustration project that I truly enjoyed. And this (at least 1 of them) was finally created in the 3D world! My then-boyfriend (now husband), 3D artist Ilya, helped with cleaning up my messy model.
From the illustration series 'Creature of Jungneung.' The series was created after exploring the soon-to-be-replaced JungNeung-Gol, an aging shanty town near my university in Seoul. I documented its essence through photography and transformed discarded objects into symbolic creatures. My intent is to preserve the memories and historical significance of this fading community.
